October 10, (THEWILL) – The chairman of Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC), Mr Babatunde Osibodu, on Thursday, insisted that the commission would conduct free, fair and credible council elections across the 20 Local Government Areas slated for Nov. 16.
Osibodu stated this shortly after screening some LG candidates contesting on the platform of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state, stressing that the commission would be just and fair in the conduct of the poll.
He divulged that no candidate of any political party vying for positions in the forthcoming council elections would not be screened, asking the people of the state to place their trust in OGSIEC for a transparent LG election
Osibodu said, “I have said this several times and I will continue to say that we will conduct a free and fair election for the people of the state
“Your supporters need to come out boldly without violence, do not be afraid of the security forces, bring your supporters out on election day, you will be protected, that is my guarantee to you.
“We shall conduct the election with utmost dignity”, he added.
