August 01, (THEWILL) – Benue State Governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, has sent his heartfelt condolences to the family, the Tiv Area Traditional Council (TATC), the good people of Jechira, and the entire Benue community over the death of the Tor Jechira, His Royal Highness, Clement Kparevfa Uganden, whose demise was announced in a London Hospital on July 25, 2024.
The Governor described the Tor Jechira’s death as sad, stating that death has not only robbed the Jechira and Tiv nation, but has also deprived the people of his positive contributions and wise counsel as a traditional ruler, father, and opinion leader.
He acknowledged Chief Uganden’s significant contributions towards conflict resolution and the preservation of the customs and traditions of the people while serving as the Chairman of Jechira Intermediate Area Traditional Council.
Governor Alia noted that Chief CK Uganden’s wise counsel will be missed by his people and people across the globe.
In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, the governor is quoted as praying to God to receive his soul, comfort his family, the Jechira people, and the entire people of the state.
Meanwhile, the Tor Tiv and Chairman of Benue State Council of Traditional Rulers, Professor James Ayatse, has confirmed the death of Tor Jechira, Chief C.K. Uganden in a London hospital.
A statement signed by the secretary of the Council, Mr Tyozua Shinyi, in Gboko, said a date for the burial will be announced in due course.
It will be recalled that Chief Uganden was installed as the Tor Jechira sometime in 2026, which is about eight years of meritorious service on the throne.
