March 28, (THEWILL) – Harry Kane has set his sights on scoring 100 goals for England before retiring from international football.
THEWILL recalls that Kane became England’s all-time leading scorer after converting a penalty in their 2-1 win against Italy last week, before adding to his tally with another goal against Ukraine, on Sunday.
Despite being only 29 years old, Kane acknowledges that scoring 100 goals for his country will be a challenging task. However, he remains optimistic and believes that he still has many years of football left in him as he said: “Getting 100 will be tough for sure, but I never count out anything. I am still young. I am 29, I am still fit and strong. I want to play for England for as long as I can.”
The captain of the English national team is passionate about playing for his country and considers being England’s all-time leading scorer a special achievement. Kane also holds the record for most goals scored by a Tottenham Hotspur player, surpassing Jimmy Greaves’ previous record of 266 goals.
His focus is on taking it one step at a time and trying to reach the 60-goal mark for the Three Lions before attempting to score 100. If he continues to score at his current rate, he could potentially achieve the feat by 2030.
