May 25, (THEWILL) – A fast rising Afro pop singer, Chinoso Emmanuel Ome, professionally known as Jaywillz, has blasted organisers of Headies for not nominating his hit song, Medicine, for any of its categories of award for the 2022 Headies.
Organisers of the reputable award, Headies, had released names of nominees and different categories of award for its 15th edition taking place in September in Atlanta, Georgia.
A few hours after names of nominees were released, Jaywillz took to social media to allege that he was sidelined in this edition.
According to him, his hit song Medicine has taken him outside the country for performance.
He added that he was told that he must have a big label or the likes of Michael Collins Ajereh, also known as Don Jazzy, backing up his music career for him to be recognised.
He promised to make a success of his musical career without a recognition from Headies.
“I’ve been to eight countries this year to perform. Even a white man’s country to perform. I had one of the biggest songs last year and they let me know I must have Don Jazzy or a big record label at my back to be recognised.
“Till I stop singing, I am not taking any Headies award. Keep it Hip TV.
I didn’t deserve that, but it’s fine. My music will be all over the world and I wouldn’t need your recognition for it.”
