Interesting Matchups For Men’s Game As Wimbledon Draws Are Unveiled

June 24, (THEWILL) – The draw for the 2022 Grand Slam at the All England Club has been released and in the opening round of his Wimbledon defence, Novak Djokovic will take on Soonwoo Kwon of South Korea.

If Carlos Alcaraz advances to the last eight, Djokovic, who is the number one seed, in the absence of world number one Russia’s Daniil Medvedev, might face the teenage phenom once more.

James Duckworth of Australia will be Andy Murray’s opponent in his opening match with the Scot unseeded for the Slam. Murray might then face John Isner and his powerful serve, in the second round. Murray will be playing in his first match since suffering an abdominal strain in the Stuttgart Open final on June 12.

Record-setting Rafael Nadal will play Francisco Cerundolo in his opening round of the 2022 competition, and if the seedings sail through, he may face Felix Auger-Aliassime, who is coached by Toni Nadal’s uncle, in the quarterfinals. After winning the Australian Open and Roland-Garros, Nadal will attempt to win an unprecedented third major title in a row. If he succeeds in SW19, he will only need to win the US Open to complete the calendar slam.

British number one Cameron Norrie will take on Pablo Andujar, in his debut encounter on the SW19 grass, while fellow countryman Dan Evans will take on qualifier Jason Kubler.
