July 02, (THEWILL) – Serie A champions, Inter Milan, have announced the departure of three experienced players, as their contracts expire. Alexis Sanchez, Juan Cuadrado, and Davy Klaassen, are set to leave the San Siro, marking the end of their respective tenures with the Italian giants.
Sanchez, the 35-year-old Chilean forward, concludes his second spell at Inter after a total of 142 appearances for the club. During his time with the Nerazzurri, Sanchez contributed to two Serie A titles, two Italian Super Cups, and one Italian Cup triumph. His departure signifies the end of an era for the prolific striker at Inter.
Colombian veteran Juan Cuadrado’s brief stint at Inter comes to a close after just one season. The 36-year-old right back, who joined as a free agent from rivals Juventus, made 12 appearances for the club during the 2023-24 campaign. Despite his limited playing time, Cuadrado’s experience undoubtedly played a role in Inter’s successful season.
Dutch midfielder Davy Klaassen also departs after a single season in Milan. The 31-year-old arrived from Ajax Amsterdam on a one-year deal, which the club has opted not to extend. In addition to these three departures, manager Simone Inzaghi has also released midfielder Stefano Sensi and returned goalkeeper Emil Audero to Sampdoria following his loan spell.
As Inter Milan prepares for the 2024-25 season, these departures signal a potential shift in the squad’s composition. The club will likely look to reinforce their ranks with new signings as they aim to defend their Serie A title and compete in European competitions.
