September 19, (THEWILL) – The Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Kennedy Ibe, resigned on Monday during an emergency plenary session held in Owerri.
Ibe said the decision was made after wide consultation with members of his family and political associates.
He also stated that his resignation was in the best interest of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the governing party in Imo State.
Meanwhile, the lawmaker representing Ehime Mbano Constituency, Emeka Nduka, has been sworn in as the new Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly.
