October 21, (THEWILL) – Kelechi Iheanacho was on the scoresheet as Leicester City came from behind to beat Swansea City 3-1 on Saturday, to become the first-ever second-tier side to win their opening six away matches of a league campaign. Matt Grimes volleyed Swansea ahead in the 20th minute, but goals from Jannik Vestergaard, Abdul Fatawu, and Iheanacho saw Leicester overturn the deficit.

The visitors started brightly but fell behind against the run of play when Grimes spectacularly converted Jamie Paterson’s corner. Leicester looked determined to respond quickly and got their reward just before half-time as Vestergaard prodded home after Swansea failed to clear a cross.

The Foxes went in front on 63 minutes when Fatawu finished off a move he started by exchanging passes with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. Swansea pushed for an equaliser but were thwarted by some excellent goalkeeping from Mads Hermansen.

Iheanacho sealed a record-breaking 11th win from 12 league games for Leicester when he slotted home four minutes from time after coming off the bench. The victory ended Swansea’s four-game winning streak and kept Leicester top of the table.

It was a dramatic comeback from the league leaders, who showed their quality and determination to overcome an impressive Swansea side. The historic away run underlines Leicester’s title credentials this season.
