January 29, (THEWILL) – An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by Boko Haram terrorists on the Pulka-Firgi Road in the Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State, on Monday, killed seven farmers in a commercial vehicle.
This is coming less than 72 hours after six pupils of the Tsangaya Quranic Centre in Gubio town were killed on Saturday when an IED exploded near the Tsangaya in the Gubio Local Government Area of Borno State.
Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency and security expert in the Lake Chad region, said the incident occurred in the early hours of Monday when the vehicle conveying the victims ran over the explosive.
Makama said the seven passengers and the driver of the vehicle were confirmed dead, while seven others were severely injured.
