Nigeria has been engulfed in the crisis of under-development which has always manifested itself in all facts of our socio-economic parlance.

Back in the years, Nigerians survival depended solely on agriculture, until late in the 70’s when she advanced to an oil-dependent state. The Government became so ignorant, abadoned the agrarian culture and began to invest on crude-oil as a result of its fast rising significance on the global line without puting into consideration the possibilty of it crashing and the hope of the Nigerian-Nation if the undesired becomes real. Many could have thought that the birth of crude-oil economy would rescue the social decadence in the Society, but instead the spate of poverty accelerates on an increase geometric rate, poverty turns more as a Custom and important devil that people must romance, live with, groom and possibly die with.

The Government officials arrested the self-reliant and self-dependent nature of the Old Nigeria through their insincere diversion to the Country’s new economic system and that has undoubtedly given a solution to the social menace, but instead deepens the Society into a more critical hegemony. A Nigerian system where a few cabal controls and recycle the Nation’s resources among selves, a Country where the highest percentage of mortality rate on daily basis is caused by hunger and starvation, a Country where a few number of people far less that 1 percent of the Nation’s population unaccountably shares an approximate of #160billion every year, a country where unemployment is springing-up at high pace, a country enrished with bad leaderships, avaricious heads, a Country that does not give hope to any generation, a Country where youths can always get themselves over-ridden with peanuts by politicians is nothing but an hopeless one, a Country whose tertiary institutions are always in a perpetual state of academic and infrastructural decline, a Country blessed with leaders that have no fear of God, respect for the Citizen, a Country where laws are two-sided – one for the rich and the other for the poor, a Country where the term “middle class” is only found on pages of book, not practical, where we only have two classes of people – the rich and the poor, a Country where a Civil Servant will work for twenty years and cannot be boastful of a Volks-wagen is not better than a slavery kingdom, a Country where someone who was a Governor when I was born will still be on a gubernatorial contest in 2013 is an embarassment or someone who was a President of the Country far before I was given birth to will still be lobbying and termed as the only agent of change in a Nation where we have several brains and radical minds with great passion to influencing swift change is nothing better than a confused State, a Country where one may need to buggle a big bank before one can pay an academic tuition is a waste, where people are just leaving the Universities with a mental porousity of “let me just leave, one day I will get a job” is threatening to good health and life expectancy ratio.

Our Governments can have attitudinal changes if the people who suffer the consequences of all these bad leadership styles are ready to take the bull by its horn, go confrontational and be ready to pay some prices for it. What will it continue to benefit a man who collects #5000 from a serving Political Functionary once in six months and the giver has never thought nor told him that he would give him a permanent empowerment that will enable him to be self-reliant in life. A Political Office Holder who gives you #2000 everytime he sees you and observes that you get excited at those times will be at peace, such person will not pray that you gain an economic freedom for life because if you do, it will be at his own political expense. This is the criminality in the minds of our Leaders.

God will not come down from heaven and do for man what man should do for himself, most of our Governments at all levels are more evilous than devil, self-centered, selfish, careless and it’s time to put it right with them. Say “no” to political oppression, say “no” to peanuts, tell your political Representatives to perform, charge their spirit, never manage them nor pretend to like them. They need you more than you think you need them. As a matter of fact, they cannot survive without you. If you correct them, they can listen but if you continue to put yourself into a mental-slavery, the cup of tea is yours. I see a better Nation where the voice of the people will be heard, representative, radical and people with the fear of God will steer up the canoe of leaderships. It can only get better!!!
