October 16, (THEWILL) – Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Abdullahi Tijjani Gwarzo, has joined the Spanish community in Nigeria to celebrate the 2024 Spain National Day.
A statement by the Minister’s SSA Media and Publicity, Adamu Abdullahi, said the reception to mark the Day was organised by the Spanish embassy in Abuja.
Abdullahi said Gwarzo had, in a congratulatory letter delivered to the Spanish Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency, Juan Ignacio Sell, noted that the longstanding bilateral relations between Nigeria and Spain had brought about numerous benefits to both countries.
He commended the Spaniards for preserving their rich cultural heritage, which he said had facilitated the country’s developmental achievements.
He said that the commemoration of the national day signified the value attached to the esteemed norms of the Spaniards.
The minister sought for more collaboration between Spain and Nigeria, especially in the area of housing and urban development.
“I look forward to further strengthening our bond as we work towards sustainable urban solutions which will be beneficial to the two countries,” he said.
During the reception held at the Spain Embassy, the Spanish Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency, Juan Ignacio Sell, expressed his country’s appreciation to the Minister whom he described as the friend of Spain.
Sell hailed the existing mutual diplomatic relations between Nigeria and his country,adding that the two nations would continue to work together for the attainment of the aspirations of their respective peoples.
