April 16, (THEWILL) – A Yoruba Socio-Cultural Group, the Yoruba Council Worldwide, has urged the Nigeria President-elect, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to deliver on his campaign promises, one of which is the strengthening of the military and security agencies with adequate arsenals in order to curb the insecurity menace in the country.

It also implored the President-elect to ensure that his administration invests more in education, agricultural revolution and creating more employment opportunities for the teeming youths in the country.

The group made this known while addressing a press conference to herald its 5th Omoluabi Festival in Ile-Ife, Osun State.

The Global President, Yoruba Council Worldwide, Oladotun Hassan, pleaded with Yoruba indigenes to accommodate each other irrespective of their religion or political affiliation.

Revisiting the recent clash between the Muslims and Obatala worshipers in the state, Hassan said although normalcy has been restored, he appealed to affected parties to be more tolerant of each other as he said both religions are known for peace.

The annual Omoluabi festival, which is in collaboration with the Lagos State Government, is expected to hold on May 1, 2023, and will be graced by the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; the Oba of Lagos, HRM Oba Rilwan Akiolu; and the Ooni of Ife, HRM Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja 11 among others.

Meanwhile, the Council, before the media briefing, paid a courtesy visit to His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja11, where they received his royal blessings.
