December 10, (THEWILL) – Bayern Munich have confirmed that winger Serge Gnabry will miss several upcoming matches, including the UEFA Champions League clash with Manchester United on Tuesday, due to injury.
The 28-year-old was forced off just minutes after coming on as a substitute during the shocking 5-1 defeat away to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
Scans conducted post-match revealed Gnabry suffered a severe muscle strain, which will rule him out of action for an unspecified period. Bayern said the injury means the German international will be unavailable for selection ahead of the round of 16 first-leg match against United at Old Trafford.
Gnabry had made 11 appearances across all competitions for Bayern this 2023/2024 season, scoring one goal for the defending champions. His absence leaves manager Thomas Tuchel short of options in attack as the club looks to bounce back from the heavy loss in Frankfurt.
