January 10, (THEWILL) – Ghanaian actor, Majid Michel is opening up about his past, saying that he once experimented with drugs and engaged in street fights before he found Christ.
The actor turned evangelist speaking on the latest episode of ‘The Reason is Jesus’ a Joy FM programme, said at the time, he also engaged in smoking and drinking with friends.
“I used to go out to drink, go and booze, we go and smoke, get into fights on the streets. So, I did some drugs; we tried something to see how it goes. We get into fights at Members next to Glenz at Osu,” he disclosed.
Citing his experience as an instance, Michel who was born to a Lebanese father and a Ghanaian mother enjoined people to be careful when deciding the kind of friends to keep.
“Friends are critical. Be careful in choosing them because those you associate with play a role in how your life turns out. If you are listening to me out there and you are a young guy be careful who you associate with as it has a serious consequence on your future,” the 41 year old said.
Majid, a married father of three started professional acting by auditioning for a modelling agency a neighbour had introduced him to. He would later get his Nollywood debut in ‘Emerald’, a 2009 romantic drama, playing the lead role alongside Genevieve Nnaji.
