SAN FRANCISCO, October 13, (THEWILL) – Actress Genevieve Nnaji and a former Big Brother Naija housemate and reality TV star, Natacha Akide, popularly called Tacha, have berated Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State for banning the scheduled #EndSARS protest in the State.

THEWILL had reported that Governor Wike in a statement issued by the commissioner for information and communications, Paulinus Nsirim, has described the protest as useless, since the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, had already disbanded SARS.

He said: “The Rivers State Government hereby [wishes] to inform the general public that all forms of protests have been banned throughout the State.

“Therefore, all proposed protests under #EndSARS Campaign are hereby prohibited.

“Government took this decision because the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, had already scrapped the Special Anti-Robbery Squad. Therefore, there is no need for any form of protest against a Unit of the Police Force that no longer exists.
