October 27, (THEWILL) – Tyson Fury has made a typically bold prediction ahead of his boxing match against MMA star Francis Ngannou this weekend, claiming he could “drink 25 pints of beer” and still emerge victorious.
The heavyweight boxing legend is staking his reputation against Ngannou, the former UFC champion making his boxing debut, in an intriguing crossover fight in Riyadh.
Fury told former world champion, Carl Frampton, he once claimed he could drink 15 pints and beat Anthony Joshua, so is confident even after 25 pints against Ngannou.
There is excitement about the clash given Ngannou’s renowned knockout power in UFC, where he won 10 of 14 fights by KO. Fury acknowledged the threat, but after a 12-week camp, believes himself to be “very, very fit” and ready to “put on a show”.
Fury outlined his game plan is to use his jab to set up big punches to head and body, predicting “a lot of pain” for Ngannou if he lands his powerful right hand on a “head the size of a large plant pot”.
