October 06, (THEWILL) – Tyson Fury has declared this intention to pursue a knockout victory in the upcoming heavyweight championship rematch against Oleksander Usyk, scheduled for December 21, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The British boxer, who experienced his first professional defeat in their initial encounter this May, plans to employ an aggressive strategy. During their first bout, Fury demonstrated effectiveness with body shots in round four, but Usyk mounted a significant comeback in the eighth round, landing impactful head shots that altered the fight’s momentum.

The December contest will feature multiple championship belts, including the WBC, WBO and WBA titles. Speaking to TNT Sports, Fury stated his commitment to an attacking approach, marking a departure from his previous tactical strategy. “I am going for destruction this time. Points decisions are not in my planning”, he mentioned during the interview.

Despite recent developments in the heavyweight division, Fury maintains interest in a potential matchup with Anthony Joshua. This proposed contest previously failed to materialise in 2022. Joshua’s recent setback against Daniel Dubois in an IBF championship fight has not diminished Fury’s enthusiasm for this potential British clash.

The heavyweight champion emphasised the significance of a future encounter with Joshua, regardless of circumstances or timing. Fury insisted that their meeting remains essential for boxing, dismissing concerns about Joshua’s recent performance or potential career trajectory.
