September 29, (THEWILL) – Tyson Fury has revealed he would be open to fighting Oleksandr Usyk, but only if the financial reward makes it worthwhile. He explained that while fans are desperate to see him take on the Ukrainian, who holds the WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight titles, it would need to be for the right price.

Fury dismissed Usyk’s credentials, claiming “he’s got zero personality, he’s an ugly b*****d with gappy teeth, and he’s half the size of me.” He also referenced how Usyk turned down the chance to fight at Wembley in April, believing he could negotiate more money. Fury was scathing, saying “on what merit do you deserve more? I’m a superstar, you’re a nobody.”

The Gypsy King also appeared to rule out a future bout with Anthony Joshua, citing his two defeats to Usyk as evidence he was no longer an appealing opponent. Fury said: “AJ’s been beat now, I was interested when he was a virgin.”

For now Fury’s focus is on his October 28 clash with Mixed Martial Arts champion Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia, which he claimed was a risky fight given the Cameroonian’s renowned punching power. But Fury insisted he would leave no stone unturned in his preparation.

Looking further ahead, Fury acknowledged that while Usyk would not sell out arenas, if the bout happens and the money is sufficient, he would relish the challenge to “knock him out”.
