July 11, (THEWILL) – UEFA has announced that French referee, Francois Letexier, will officiate the Euro 2024 final between Spain and England in Berlin, on Sunday. The 35-year-old official has extensive experience in UEFA competitions, having refereed 65 matches since 2017.
Letexier’s Euro 2024 experience includes three group-stage matches: Spain versus Georgia, Denmark versus Serbia and Croatia versus Albania. He also served as the fourth official in this year’s UEFA Champions League final between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.
The French referee will be supported by a team of officials from various nations. His compatriots, Cyril Mugnier and Mehdi Rahmouni, will serve as assistant referees, while Poland’s Szymon Marciniak will act as the fourth official. Video Assistant Referee (VAR) duties will be handled by Jerome Brisard of France, assisted by Willy Delajod (France) and Massimiliano Irrati (Italy).
This appointment marks a significant milestone in Letexier’s career, as he takes charge of one of football’s most prestigious fixtures. The Euro 2024 final between Spain and England is set to be a keenly contested match, with both teams vying for continental glory.
