February 08, (THEWILL) – The ruling All Progressives Congress in Plateau State is disfigured, as a former Chairman of the Party, Hon. Latep Dabang and 12,000 of his supporters, have dumped the party and collapsed into the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Among the decampees also is a former member of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. Nanpon Tom, and a former State Assistant Secretary of the Party, Hon. Binkur. They were received by the party during a mega rally in Langtang North, tagged the “Great Movement.”

Speaking to newsmen shortly after receiving the PDP flag at the Langtang North township Stadium, Hon. Latep Dabang said PDP will take over the State in 2023, and quickly called on all right thinking people of Plateau State, who are in APC to return home to the PDP, saying APC is not a quality party.

Latep said “by the Grace of God, the PDP will win the Pankshin South State Constituency and Jos North/ Bassa Federal Constituency by-election slated for February 26, 2022.”

“I have the full assurance that the PDP will win, because I don’t have any doubts in my mind that the Plateau people will say bye bye to the APC”, he said further.

Hon. Latep said he will deploy his political arsenal against the APC in the State to ensure the party’s victory, also noting that the chairman of the Plateau State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, Hon. Chris Hassan, is a purpose-driven and result-oriented leader with much experience.

The PDP State Chairman, Chris Hassan, in turn noted that the Party assignment started from Langtang North LGA, because it is a stronghold of the Party from where they hope to return it to the Government House in Rayfield come 2023.

Hassan further said with the defection of these heavy weights from the APC to the opposition party, they expect total victory in 2023 general elections in the State.

He disclosed that in the next few weeks, there will be another rally in Jos, where the national leadership of the party will receive all those who decamped from the All Progressives Congress to the People’s Democratic Party.
