SAN FRANCISCO, January 17, (THEWILL) –
Five persons have been confirmed dead in a fresh attack by Boko Haram insurgents on Pallam community in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

Pallam is the hometown of the Deputy Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Emmanuel Tsamdu.

The attack came barely a week after the terrorists launched a similar attack on neighbouring Wanu, Kamale and Kafin Hausa communities of Michika and Madagali areas.

According to Yusuf Mohammed, Chairman of the Madagali local government area, the insurgents attacked the village around midnight in an operation that lasted over one hour, killing three people.

“They shot and killed a security man guarding the village clinic and slaughtered a man that tried to escape.

“The third victim was a shop owner who was burnt to death in his shop when they set fire on 18 lock-up shops in the village,” he said.

He said soldiers and local hunters who chased the insurgents were able to shoot two dead.

Othman Abubakar, the Spokesman of the police command in Adamawa, confirmed the incident but said he had no details yet.

Abubakar said information reaching him was that three people lost their lives with shops destroyed.
