Fire Guts Government Staff Quarters In Lagos

August 30, (THEWILL) – On Friday morning, an apartment in the Staff Quarters of the Lagos State Government, in Ogba, Ikeja, was gutted by fire.

The fire outbreak, which occurred at about 2 am in the three-storey building that houses 16 two-bedroom flats, affected a two-bedroom apartment in Flat 5, Block 21.

The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Femi Oke-Osanyitolu, said an electrical surge in the children’s room ignited the fire.

“Fortunately there was no loss of life and injuries sustained in the incident. Also, victims and other occupants were enlightened on the proper use of electric appliances.”
