FCT SWAN Commends Sports Minister For 10-Year Football Masterplan

November 12, (THEWILL) – Sunday Dare, the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, has been praised by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), FCT chapter, for the inauguration of the 10-Year Football Development Master Plan Committee.

Bunmi Haruna, chairman of the chapter, said SWAN is impressed with the level of people on the committee and believe they are capable of setting a decent course for the development of the beautiful game in Nigeria.

“The minister should be commended for being able to bring this calibre of people together,” Haruna said.

“A committee that has experienced sports administrator like Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima as chairman, sports developer Mr. Yemi Idowu as vice chairman, Chief Segun Odegbami, Sunday Oliseh, Musa Amadu, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, Ade Ojeikere, Emmanuel Babayaro among others as members will surely deliver on its mandate.

“While we hope that they will be adequately supported to carry out this task, we also urge the ministry to put in place machineries to ensure that the committee’s eventual recommendations will not be swept under the carpet.

“Their recommendations should be made public so the people can hold the ministry accountable,” the chairman added.

Haruna used the opportunity to thank the minister for presenting 50 copies of former Super Eagles captain Sunday Oliseh’s book “Audacity to Refuse” to the SWAN FCT Chapter.
