March 26, (THEWILL) – Legendary music icon, Ebenezer Obey, will soon clock 80. The music icon will turn 80 on Sunday, April 3, 2022.
His family, friends and fans are planning big for the birthday celebration. They are already putting finishing touches to host him and other dignitaries to a superlative birthday party.
The event will serve as an honor to the veteran artiste for his positive impact to the entertainment industry over the past six decades, transcrending from preaching morals to promoting culture and traditions, as well as developmental ideologies.
According to the celebration committee, the leadership and members of Decross Gospel Mission will host Obey, who is also the General Overseer of the church, family, dignitaries from all walks of life to a thanksgiving service on April 3 at the church headquarters in Agege, Lagos.
A grand reception will also be held on April 8, at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Organisers of the Headies award have also concluded plans to celebrate the musician with an event on May 22 at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island.
The event will feature a cross section of artistes, who are excited to honour the music icon. A biography of Obey will also be launched at the event.
