September 03, (THEWILL) – The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers kick off this week with several exciting matches scheduled. On Wednesday, national teams from Sudan, Gambia, Libya, and Tanzania will compete to gain an advantage in their respective groups.

In Group F, Sudan will face Niger at the Juba Stadium in South Sudan on Wednesday afternoon. Sudan, a former champion of the tournament in 1970, missed the last edition held in the Ivory Coast. Niger is aiming to qualify for the tournament for only the third time, having last participated in 2013. This match is crucial for both teams as they seek to secure valuable points early in the qualifiers.

Another key fixture will see Libya take on Rwanda at the 11 June Stadium on Wednesday evening. Libya, under the management of former Orlando Pirates coach, Milutin Sredojevic, has shown strong form, suffering only one defeat in their last 11 matches since October 2023. Known as ‘Micho’, the Coach hopes to lead Libya through their 11th qualifying campaign successfully.

Rwanda, on the other hand, has a more limited history in the competition, with their only appearance dating back to 2004. This match against Libya is significant for them as they strive to make an impact in the qualifiers and secure a spot in the upcoming tournament.

The fixtures for Wednesday, September 4, include Sudan versus Niger, Comoros against Gambia, Libya facing Rwanda, and Tanzania taking on Ethiopia. These matches are set to provide thrilling football as teams vie for qualification to the next AFCON tournament.
