October 23, (THEWILL) – ESPN has made several high-profile additions to its NBA studio analyst lineup, hiring newly retired players, Andre Iguodala and Austin Rivers, as well as former New York Knicks general manager, Scott Perry.
Iguodala, a four-time NBA champion, retired just days ago after a decorated career. Rivers also recently wrapped up an 11-year NBA playing career. They join ESPN at a time when the network aims to add analysts who have intimate knowledge of today’s game.
Additionally, ESPN has brought on former WNBA coach, Becky Hammon, as an NBA analyst. Hammon led the Las Vegas Aces to the 2022 WNBA title and previously worked for ESPN. Connecticut Sun coach, Stephanie White, will also take on an NBA analyst role.

ESPN executive David Roberts said he expects versatility from the new analysts, noting Iguodala will appear on both basketball-focused and general sports programmes. With intimate access to the modern NBA, the analysts can provide unique insight into today’s players and storylines.
The network continues to bolster its NBA roster after hiring veteran coach Doc Rivers in July. Rivers and son Austin will make some joint appearances. Overall, ESPN’s latest additions reflect its commitment to shaping diverse NBA studio coverage with voices directly from the current game.
