October 05, (THEWILL) – Mr Chris Eriyamremu, an opinion leader from Ofuoma Community, Afiesere oilfield, OML30, in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, has appealed to the state government led by Governor Sherrif Oborevwori, to prioritise the construction of the abandoned Ofuoma-Erhanaka-Kokori Road.
Eriyamremu, a Peace Mediator and Conflict Resolution Consultant, who spoke to newsmen at Ofuoma community on Saturday, said Ofuoma-Erhanaka-Kokori links Ughelli North and Ethiope East Local Government Areas.
Noting that when the abandoned road is constructed and completed, it will ease quick movement and transportation from Ughelli to Kokori.
According to him, fixing the road will also help students of Delta State College of Health Technology, Ofuoma, resident in Kokori, will no longer go through that distance of Isiokolo to Ofuoma.
“The abandoned Ofuoma-Erhanaka-Kokori Road is very important as it will boost the commercial trade for the people of Ofuoma and Kokori.”
He continued, “fixing the road will further discourage hoodlum or persons who want to use the bad and lonely road as hideout for any untoward activities.”
“We are approaching the dry season and I want to sincerely urge His Excellency, Governor Oborevwori to graciously approve and award the contract for the construction of Ofuoma-Erhanaka-Kokori Road to a competent contractor that will immediately commence work on the road.”
