SAN FRANCISCO, November 04, (THEWILL) –Â The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has released a former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro.
THEWILL recalls that Obanikoro, who returned from the United States on October 17 made himself available to the anti graft commission following allegations that he received N4.7bn through the Office of the National Security Adviser in 2014 and helped disbursed some of the ‘Dasukigate’ funds
He was accused of being the ‘transporter’ in the alleged money-sharing deal that aided Ayodele Fayose in the Ekiti state governorship election of 2014 and allegedly conniving with his children, Babajide Obanikoro and Gbolahan Obanikoro, to secure government contracts without executing them.

THEWILL gathered that Obanikoro was released around 5pm after he met all his bail conditions, including the provision of two sureties who are directors in the Federal Civil Service, on Thursday night.
Reports indicate that Obanikoro returned N100m and pledged to return N480m while his American and Nigerian passports were submitted to the EFCC.
