SAN FRANCISCO, May 10, (THEWILL) – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Monday arrested and filed criminal charges at the Federal High Court in Lagos against activist lawyer, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa for allegedly leasing a residential property seized by the anti-graft agency to an oil company without its approval.
Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa and Jonathan Udeagbala allegedly committed the infraction on August 13, 2013.
Adegboruwa who is also representing wanted former militant commander, Chief Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo in a criminal suit file against him by the EFCC, reportedly kept the proceeds of the House 105, NICON Town Estate, Lekki lease believed to be over N61 million. The home was leased to Shelf Drilling Nigeria Limited.

The EFCC said the property was a “subject of interim orders of attachment made by Justice Christopher Balogun of the Lagos State High Court.”
The order, the commission said, was made on June 18, 2012.
The charge, dated May 5, has been assigned to Justice Oluremi Oguntoyibo.
