October 20, (THEWILL) – The Department of State Service (DSS) has replaced Adegboyega Fasasi with Rasheed Atanda Lawal as the Chief Security Officer (CSO), to President Bola Tinubu.

Fasasi had served as CSO since the inauguration of President Tinubu on May 29, 2023.

THEWILL gathered that the Director-General of the DSS, Tosin Ajayi, had requested the President to approve the release of Fasasi so he could proceed on a strategic training course.

Although, there has not been any official confirmation of the movements in the CSO’s office, a security source privy to the development explained that Fasasi’s removal and replacement was not new, adding it was a common practice in the Service.

According to the source, whenever a new DG comes to office at the DSS, he is most likely to embark on reorganisation in various areas of the Service, especially around the President.

President Bola Tinubu had on August 26, appointed Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi as the new Director-General of the DSS.
