Drake Files Against Deposition In XXXTentacion Murder Case

February 14, (THEWILL) – Audrey Graham, aka Drake, has fought back against a subpoena ordering him to appear for a deposition in the murder trial of the late rapper, XXXTentacion.

Mauricio Padilla, a lawyer to Derek Williams, one of the suit’s defendants, had named Drake as a person of interest.

According to Padilla, XXX and Graham were not in good terms before his death. The lawyer made reference to an Instagram post by the rapper, in which he tagged Drake’s account in February 2018.

“If anyone tries to kill me it was @champagnepapi, I’m snitching right now,” the post read.

According to Rolling Stone, in a motion newly filed by Drake’s lawyers, it was argued that the original deposition subpoena was not properly served nor was it properly accepted by the artiste.

The motion read in part, “In a case such as this, it is both unreasonable and oppressive to subpoena an out of state party who has not been mentioned in any reports, any investigation, or referenced to have any involvement in this matter

“Based on the evidence so far provided in this case, there is video which purports to show the defendants allegedly as participant in the murder of the victim.”

It was further stated in the filing, that the request for deposition was unreasonable as there was no evidence to show that Drake contributed to, had knowledge of, or participated in the alleged incident.

Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy, aka XXXTentacion, was murdered by two masked men in June 2018 as he left a Florida RIVA Motorsports dealership.

His killers also stole a bag belonging to the rapper which contained $50,000 in cash.
