Directing Isn’t A Profitable Career In Nollywood – Niyi Akinmolayan

May 29, (THEWILL) – Filmmaker cum director, Niyi Akinmolayan, has stated that movie directing is not a profitable career in Nollywood.

According to him, when a director releases a movie and it is not well accepted by movie lovers. Such a director will be dragged and criticised for the quality of movie released.

Such a movie maker will also be labelled incompetent. And potential clients wouldn’t want to identify with such a movie maker.

And it is only the director that will be blamed, the remaining cast and crew will move on instantly.

If care is not taken, such an issue can lead to the death of the movie maker’s career, while the cast will move on to to shoot another movie.

However, despite his opinion, the movie maker has enjoyed a robust career, some of the movies he has directed such as Wedding Party, Prophetess, Elevator Baby, are some of the highest grossing movies at the cinema, after they were released.
