Diaz, Joselu On Target As Real Madrid Comfortably See Off Las Palmas

September 28, (THEWILL) – Real Madrid eased to a 2-0 victory over Las Palmas in La Liga on Wednesday night, at the Bernabeu. It was the perfect response from Carlo Ancelotti’s side following the Madrid derby at the weekend.

Brahim Diaz broke the deadlock for the hosts in first-half stoppage time after an opening 45 minutes littered with chances for Madrid. Joselu then doubled their advantage soon after the interval.

Madrid carved out several excellent opportunities in the first half but were repeatedly denied by inspired goalkeeping from Las Palmas’ Alvaro Valles. He made fine saves to keep out efforts from Diaz, Rodrygo and Nacho before being beaten right on half time.

Despite Valles’ heroics, Brahim stayed composed to slot home and give Madrid the lead. Joselu then headed home a second after the break, following a pinpoint cross from Rodrygo. With the three points secure, Madrid eased off in the closing stages.

Vinicius Junior returned from injury to get some valuable minutes under his belt late on as the hosts cruised to victory. Next up for Madrid is a trip to Girona on Saturday, while Las Palmas host Celta Vigo on Monday.
