Consistent, Accurate Academic Data Critical To Quality Education – DG

June 21, (THEWILL) – The Director-General of the Bureau for Education Quality Assurance (BEQA) in Benue State, Dr Terna Francis, has underscored the critical need for consistent and accurate academic records in ensuring education in the state.

The DG, who made this assertion during his visits to various schools in the Makurdi metropolis, evaluated the documentation of teachers’ work, identifying several areas for improvement.

During the inspection tour, Dr Francis and his team observed several issues including teachers using outdated notes for learners, reliance on previous lesson plans for current teaching methods, lack of proper schemes of work, employment of secondary school leavers as classroom teachers, as well as absences of staff from school with no cogent reasons.
