Committee, Families Appreciate Institutions, Others On Support During Ex-President Jonathan’s Late Sister’s Funeral

February 28, (THEWILL) – The Central funeral committee of the late elder sister to former President, Goodluck Jonathan, the late Madam Obebhatein Jonathan have commended various institutions for the support rendered to the committee and bereaved families during the obsequious activities of the late septuagenarian.

In an appreciation message jointly issued to Newsmen on behalf of the late Madam Obebhatein Jonathan’s families by the Chairman of the Central Burial Committee, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer(CEO/MD), Zeetin Engineering, Barr. Azibola Robert and the Secretary of the committee, the Sub-Dean, Students Affairs, Federal University, Otuoke, Bayelsa state, Dr. Laguo Gilbert, the committee lauded various institutions for their moral and social support during and after the funeral.

THEWILL recalls that former President, Jonathan, lost his only sister earlier in January 2024.

The late older sister of the Nigerian ex-President passed on at age 70 and was interred February, 2024 at Otuoke community, home town of the former President in the Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa state, South-South Nigeria

The committee, which also thanked people from all walks of life for gracing the obsequious programme, noted that the support and encouragement given them and the bereaved families during their trying times aided in ameliorating pains occasioned by the lose of their daughter, mother and sister.

The message read in parts: “The Central Burial Committee of the late madam Obebhatein Jonathan, on behalf of the families wish to express our sincere appreciation to the Prosperity Government of Bayelsa State.

“We also wish to express our gratitude to the Niger Delta University, the Federal University Otuoke, the delegation of communities and traditional rulers, captains of industries, crème de la crème of the political class and everyone who graciously attended the burial rites of our daughter, mother, sister and grandmother, Late Madam Obebhatein Jonathan.

“Indeed, your esteemed presence added invaluable colour to the burial ceremonies which started from the 15th to the 19th of February 2024.

“We’re truly grateful for all that you have done to support the bereaved families and that your contributions and physical presence have not gone unnoticed.

“Once again, thank you sincerely for your support and standing by us in our moment of grief”.
