May 04, (THEWILL) – Chelsea Co-owner, Todd Boehly, has spoken out, for the first time, about the club’s dismal season under his ownership.
The Blues have already gone through three managers in the current campaign, with Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter and now caretaker, Frank Lampard, all taking charge. Yet, with five games remaining, Chelsea are still not assured of English Premier League survival as they sit only nine points clear of the relegation zone.
However, Boehly has remained optimistic and insisted that the owners are committed to the club’s long-term success. “The fans are demanding. You know they want to win and we get that we want to win. I think our view though was that this is a long-term project and you know we’re committed to the long-term,” Boehly said.
He added: “We very much believe that we’re going to figure it out. Winning is just the best feeling there is.”
Chelsea’s next match is a crucial one, as they face Bournemouth, who are in form and will pose a stern test. They have only lost one in their last five games. Nevertheless, a victory would put the Blues one step closer to securing their EPL status for another season.
