September 03, (THEWILL) – The management of Bayero University, Kano (BUK) on Friday announced that candidates seeking admission into the university will not be subjected to a written post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (PUTME) test.
However, prospective students who made the university their first choice will undergo an online screening process to enable them key into the university’s portal.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Director of the Directorate of Examinations, Admissions and Records, Hajiya Amina Abdullahi, on behalf of the acting Registrar, Malam Jamil Salim.
According to the statement, the decision followed an agreement reached by the University Central Admissions Committee and the University Management. It also said the cut-off mark for entry is 220 and above for programmes in the Faculties of Clinical Sciences and Pharmaceutical Sciences, while programmes in the Faculties of Allied Health Sciences, Dentistry, and Law require 200 and above.
The cut-off mark for other programmes is 180 and above.
According to the statement, the online screening will commence on September 3, 2021 and close on September 18, 2021.
The statement added that “printing of acknowledgement slip will continue up to midnight of 20th September 2021.”
