BEVERLY HILLS, June 03, (THEWILL) – President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday received one of his predecessors, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo inside the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja, in a closed-door meeting that lasted about an hour.
Obasanjo, decked in white agbada, arrived the Villa in company of one of his close allies, Otunba Johnson Fasawe, at 12:30pm and headed straight to the President’s office where they had discussions.
The ex-President did not speak with State House correspondents at the end of the meeting which will be the third he has had with his successor who was sworn into office about a year ago.
However, A Villa source told THEWILL that the meeting may not be unconnected with the rising political tensions in the country, particularly the renewed hostilities in the Niger Delta as well as agitations by pro-Biafran elements.
