April 01, (THEWILL) – Turkish football club, Fenerbahçe, have reportedly received a €12 million proposal from Brentford FC for the transfer of Nigerian star, Bright Osayi-Samuel.
The winger was previously on the brink of returning to the English Premier League on loan, having received offers from several teams including Bournemouth and Leeds in January. However, his move to Bournemouth fell through due to their loan requirements.
This latest Bees’ offer meets Fenerbahçe’s asking price for Osayi-Samuel, who is known for his attacking prowess despite primarily playing in a defensive position. The 25-year-old has been instrumental in both his club and in the national team, helping the Super Eagles to a 1-0 win against Guinea-Bissau in the second leg of their Africa Cup of Nations qualification series.
While Fenerbahçe may be hesitant to part ways with the talented defender until they receive his full value, they stand to make a significant profit given that they acquired him for just €508k from Queens Park Rangers. If the deal goes through, Osayi-Samuel could provide much-needed assistance to Brentford’s offense under the guidance of manager Thomas Frank as they continue to challenge for a place in Europe next season.
