BREAKING: APP Sweeps Rivers LG Polls, Wins 22 Chairmanship Seats

October 05, (THEWILL) – The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) has announced the results of the state’s local government elections which took place on Saturday, with the Action Peoples Party (APP) emerging victorious in 22 of 23 chairmanship seats so far declared.

The Chief Election Officer of the Commission, Justice Adolphus Enebeli, announced the results on Saturday evening in Port Harcourt.

While results of Etche Local Government Area have been suspended as the collation of results is still ongoing, Enebeli said it would be announced along with the results for the 319 councillorship seats at a later date.
