October 15, (THEWILL) – The bitter rivalry between Logan Paul and Dillon Danis culminated in a boxing match in Manchester that ended in controversy and chaos. Paul was ahead on points when Danis was disqualified in the sixth round for attempting to tackle his opponent to the canvas.
The lead-up to the fight had been filled with trash talk and mind games, especially from Danis, who drew Paul’s blood earlier in the week by throwing a bottle that left a cut near his right eye. In the ring, Danis was often on the back foot as Paul landed 82 punches compared to just nine from Danis through the first five rounds.
As Danis became more desperate, he tried unsuccessfully for a takedown and guillotine in the sixth round. With seconds left, as Paul moved in for a stoppage, Danis fell to the floor and security flooded the ring to keep the fighters apart as the bout ended.
Paul was scathing of his opponent afterwards, calling Danis “a true demon, a true coward” and questioning his jiu-jitsu credentials. He even challenged Conor McGregor to “step up for his b****” if he wanted to avenge his training partner’s defeat.
The bout was part of the 10th MF & DAZN Series, which also featured KSI against Tommy Fury. Tommy’s brother, Tyson Fury, headlines his own event on October 28 when he takes on Francis Ngannou in a boxing match between heavyweight champions.
