July 14, (THEWILL) – It was a gathering of who’s who in the society as the families of billionaire businesswoman, Hajia Bola Shagaya, and entrepreneur cum politician, Senator Tolulope Odebiyi became united as one via the wedding of their children, Muktar Tolani Shagaya, a member of the Kwara State House of Assembly representing Ilorin West/Asa Constituency and the love of his life, Ayotola Oluwatoyin Odebiyi.
The wedding extravaganza which began last weekend culminated into a grand finale at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja on Friday July 12 with a Nikkah ceremony and reception. Without mincing words, lavish and extravagant for lack of a better descriptive word is how best the wedding can be described. The parents of the bride and groom left nothing to chance as they ensured their children, and their guests had the best of times.
Among the dignitaries that attended the wedding were Abike Dabiri who gave the toast at the wedding; Dolapo Osinbajo, wife of former vice president of Nigeria; Kwara First Lady, Olufolake Abdulrazaq; Abba Folawiyo; Bola and Segun Awolowo, Zenith bank MD, Adaora Umeoji, Zamfara State gov, Dauda Lawal and his wife, former first lady, Turai Yaradua; Dino Melaye, Aisha Babangida, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, Senator Solomon Adeola; Niyi Adebayo, former First Lady, Patience Jonathan; Senator Tokunbo Abiru etc. A day before, the mother of the groom, hosted friends and family members to the mother’s night otherwise known as Wuni.
Although the bride’s mother usually hosts this event, the groom’s mother opted to host it. A week ago, both families shut down Lagos for the traditional wedding ceremony which had former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Vice President of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima, as the Chairman of the occasion; the Chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum, who is also the Governor of Kwara State, Alhaji AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke and wife; Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun; Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat among several others.
