SAN FRANCISCO, April 28, (THEWILL) – Federal troops on Tuesday afternoon rescued 200 girls and 93 women from the Sambisa forest, the last stronghold of the Boko Haram in Borno State.

Nigeria’s Defence Ministry tweeted that “Troops captured and destroyed 3 terrorists camps including the notorious Tokumbere camp in the forest” during an operation.

It however said it could not confirm whether the girls rescued are the Chibok schoolgirls abducted by the Boko Haram about a year ago.
