Boko Haram Kills Four Civilian JTF Members

BEVERLY HILLS, August 16, (THEWILL) – Boko Haram insurgents Saturday killed four members of the youth vigilante group in Borno also known as Civilian JTF while five others were injured .

A Civilian JTF leader in Mussa District of the state, Stephen Apagu, said the local vigilante members were killed in a suicide bomb attack at a check point in Ramirgo village, Askira/Uba Local Government Area of the state.

He disclosed that a male suicide in his early 20s had stormed the check point and detonated explosive devices (IEDs) targeted at the Civilian JTF members on duty, instantly killing four of them and injuring five others.
According to Apagu, “We lost four of our members today when a male suicide bomber detonated Improvised Explosive Devices at check point in Ramirgo village.

”Five members were also injured and are now receiving treatment at Uba General Hospital.”

Confirming the attack in a text message to THEWILL, the Commissioner of police in the state, Mr. Aderemi Opadokun, who however put the casualty said: “At about 1045hrs on 15/8/15. There was an IED explosion at Ramirgo village in Askira/Uba LGA when a suspected suicide bomber detonated IED strapped to his body near the market.

“Three persons including the suicide bomber died on the spot while two others were injured. The scene was visited and corpses and injured victims were evacuated to General hospital in Uba town and we have commenced investigations.”
