September 17, (THEWILL) – The Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Aondoana Dajoh and that of Oyo State, Hon. Edward Ogundoyin, have joined their counterparts across the country to felicitate Kogi Speaker, Aliyu Umar Yusuf, over the chieftaincy title of Badakoshi of Lokoja conferred on him by the traditional council.
Chief Dajoh, who is the Vice Chairman, North Central, Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, led his colleagues to the ceremony held at Maigari’s Palace in Lokoja, Kogi State.
Chief Dajoh, the Atonko U Mbatiav, explained that the conferment of the Lokoja traditional chieftaincy title on their colleague was never a surprise but a right decision taken by the Lokoja Traditional Council.
According to him, the chieftaincy title is a true reflection of the uncommon visionary leadership disposition of his Kogi State House of Assembly counterpart that has a direct bearing on the generality of the Lokoja people and Kogi State in general.
A statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Comrade Titus Atodo, said the Chairman, Conference of Speakers, who is also the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Edward Ogundoyin, thanked the Lokoja Traditional Council of Chiefs for finding one of them worthy of the honour.
He described Hon. Yusuf as someone with impeccable credentials who always adds value to the process he finds himself in.
The delegation from the Benue State House of Assembly who accompanied the Speaker, according to the statement, included Hon. Saater Tiseer, Majority Leader; Hon. Peter Ipusu, Majority Chief Whip, and Minority Leader, Hon. Michael Audu.
