Benue Govt Expands Digital Infrastructure, Sign MoU With EVNT Technologies

October 18, (THEWILL) – Governor Hyacinth Alia has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EVNT Technologies, a leading Saudi Arabia-based Information Technology (IT) and solutions provider, with the aim of expanding digital infrastructure in the state, through the Benue Digital Infrastructure Company PLC (BDIC).

The MoU was signed during the 2024 GITEX Global Summit, which ended in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Friday.

Speaking after the signing, Governor Alia described the move as a step towards making Benue a truly digital environment.

“This partnership with EVNT Technologies is a critical step towards realising our vision of a truly digital Benue. It is about creating opportunities, empowering our people, and laying the groundwork for sustained economic growth.”

On his part, the founder and Chairman of EVNT Technologies, Hamad Al Saleh, promised the firm’s readiness to bring technology expertise in the state.

The software Engineer assured further that he was going to ensure Benue becomes a model for digital transformation in Nigeria and beyond.

“We are excited to bring our expertise to Benue. Together, we can make the state a model for digital transformation in Nigeria and beyond”, he assured.

Aside from Infrastructure Development, the partnership equally targets Skills Training and Capacity Building, Digital Application Development, as well as Digital Policy Formulation and Strategy.

The implementation of the partnership is expected to begin within 90 days, with both parties dedicated to delivering meaningful progress.

A statement signed by Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, said the Governor was accompanied by the Managing Director/CEO, Benue Digital Infrastructure Company PLC (BDIC), Terwase Gbande, Commissioner for Communications, Technology and Digital Economy, Hon. Kwaghgba Amande, as well as the Principal Special Assistant to the Governor on ICT and New Media, Angula Bishop Reuben.
