July 06, (THEWILL) – Reality show star, Chinenyenwa Desire, also known as Chichi, has slammed a N100 million lawsuit against her colleague, Ijeoma Otabor, also known as Phyna.
The lawsuit came after a series of allegations made by Phyna on her Snapchat account, which Chichi’s legal team considers defamatory and damaging to her reputation.
The dispute started during the Big Brother Naija Reunion show, where an altercation developed between Chichi and Phyna.
In the midst of a heated argument, Phyna accused Chichi of abandoning her husband and children in Benin City, revealing that it resulted in the tragic death of one of her children.
Phyna also claimed that Chichi used her deceased parents as a strategy to gain favour on the show.
Phyna also age-shamed her colleague, stating that Chichi is 33 years old, and accused her of working as a stripper.
Not done, Phyna also accused Chichi of poisoning her friend in Cyprus, out of jealousy.
Responding to the allegations, Chichi took legal action against Phyna.
Her lawyers filed a lawsuit stating that Phyna’s claims of Chichi poisoning her friend is entirely false, filled with lies, malicious intent, and slander.
They emphasised that Phyna’s outburst has negatively impacted on Chichi’s professional life, resulting in the loss of several endorsement deals and tarnishing her public image.
The lawsuit seeks N100 million in damages as compensation for the harm caused to Chichi’s reputation, loss of earnings, and emotional distress endured as a result of Phyna’s defamatory remarks.
