August 20, (THEWILL) – The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Bayelsa State Council, has announced activities lined up for the 2023 Press Week.

The Sports Committee of the union, in a statement by the Chairman, Mr George Ameli and Secretary, Doris Eniekeziemene, said the 2023 Press Week will feature five indoor sports as part of efforts to engage media practitioners and contribute to the development of the State.

According to the statement, the Press Week will start on Monday, August 21 2023, with an enlightenment walk from Peace Park to the NUJ Press Centre, Azikoro, by 7am, followed by a light refreshment at same venue.

The statement noted that the indoor games will commence by 10am on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at the NUJ Press Centre. The five indoor sports listed for the Press Week include Scrabble, Chess, Table Tennis, Draughts and Ludo. It added that the games will continue on Wednesday, August 23.

The statement directs interested participants (Journaliists) to contact Hananeel Jackson on 07062286901 to register for the stress-free games. It added that Thursday, August 24, 2023, will see a friendly football match between the NUJ and Allstars International of Yenagoa at the Samson Siasia Stadium by 4pm.

It further explained that the theme for the 2023 NUJ Press Week is “Expanding Media Knowledge For Better Information Management In The Niger Delta.”
