Bandits Abduct Journalists, Family Members In Kaduna

July 08, (THEWILL) – Two members of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna State chapter, AbdulGafar Alabelewe and AbdulRaheem Audu, and their family members have been abducted at Millennium City, Igabi Council of Kaduna by suspected bandits.

Spokesperson of the Kaduna State Police Command, Mansir Hassan, confirmed that the victims were abducted at about 10:30 pm on Saturday.

“We have deployed our operatives into the bush where the kidnappers are suspected to be,” he added.

He said Alabelewe, Chairman, Correspondents’ Chapel, Kaduna State NUJ Council, was abducted at Danhono 2, Millennium City, along with three of his family members.

Also taken was the Correspondent of Blueprint Newspaper, Abdulraheem Aodo, and his wife.

Alabelewe is also the Correspondent of The Nation Newspaper.
