July 18, (THEWILL) – The Cross River State governor, Professor Ben Ayade, has pledged support for Nsa Gill, the new chairman of the Cross River State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists.
Ayade made this known through his Deputy Chief Of Staff, Linus Obogo, while formally reacting to the emergence of Gill in a State Congress held at the weekend.
He said Gill’s qualification is not in doubt and he looks forward to a robust relationship with him.
“I convey my hearty and warm felicitations to you on your election as the Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, Cross River state Chapter.
“Your qualification for the exalted office was never in doubt.
“As an accomplished professional in the field of journalism and an illustrious son of the state, the government and people of Cross River look forward to a robust working relationship with you”, the governor said.
Nsa Gill, a State Correspondent with The Nation Newspaper and former secretary of the state council, takes over from Comrade Victor Udu, who served out two terms.
Other members of the new executive in the state are Florence Kanu (Vice Chairman), Solomon Azu (Secretary), Adams Achiane (Treasurer), Archibong Bassey (Financial Secretary) and Kingsley Agim (Assistant Secretary).
